I did a lapidary course last year and i was given a box of boring looking rocks that i had to choose from, i was skeptical at first but they turned out amazing once fully cut and polished!

Where is the Lobster Hole in relation to the south portion of the Bay as it borders the North shore of Nova Scotia? Awesome rock boulders along the Bay shore which I'm guessing is buried by the tide. Since I'll never get to N.S. again due to Right ankle/foot disability & unable to drive since 2012, I'll really enjoy your videos & 'travel' along with you. Thanks for sharing.

What type of metal are you using for the settings? I've found some pieces in silver that are most affordable. The value then obviously spikes and it is worth it for the beauty of the stones. + !

Awesome seam agate. I'm jealous, makes me wish I was 30 years younger, still able to drive and had a rockhounding friend who wanted to explore Nova Scotia and find rocks/agates, etc. That's why I'm glad I found your channel and videos.

Great find, I've been up and down Blue Beach many times, found a trackway, shark spine, fish scales but never a terapod bone yet alone an amazing jaw, well done! There is a huge institute trackway there if you know where to look.

Here in Scotland if you get caught stealing rocks we get our hands cut of. Mind you I've managed without my hands for years. The only thing that annoys me is I can no longer go shoplifting but I do have a lot of stones.

I'd be interested to know wh😮at the other smaller rock looked like after you cut or tumbled it. It would be cool to see any banding it might have. Your macro really showed off the beauty of the epidote and feldspar. The finished cab looks great! ❤

What part of Nova Scotia did these seam agates come from? Many years ago, early 1970s, a friend from Connecticut (southern portion of New England) went to N.S. to try his luck at one of the Five Islands to get agate/seam agate, & probably beach stones. As the tide receded out of the Bay of Fundy, he walked his way out to one of the Five Islands to hunt for the agate with a burlap bag with his tools for breaking rock, gloves, etc., and perhaps another bag for the agate and probably beach stones. Don't know what island he went to as I don't know any of the names or how close they are to one another. I had warned him about both the receding & incoming tides. On his way there, he met a fisherman/lobsterman and arranged his boat ride back to Parrsboro. After his return to CT he gave me a few pieces of Five Islands agate. When I sawed them on the diamond saw, it took quite a while to cut those hard chunks of seam agate. One of the rocks had patterns similar to what you've shown on this video. I had been in N. S. five years earlier and had told him about agates there. He had also read at least one article on NS agates in the Lapidary Journal. In past years, there were several club members from one of the rock & gem clubs I've been a member of, who would go each summer to N.S. along with a trailer/motor boat to get them to and from the Five Islands. Don't know how many islands they were able to visit. Too many years ago to remember.
